Title: What parts are required for a keyboard?
Post by: snarfarlarkus on Wed, 20 January 2016, 22:43:57
I was just wondering what parts are required to build a keyboard because I feel like building one... Atm I believe there is case, pcb and switches? I'm probably forgetting something though

Cheers

Case, PCB (Controller, Diodes, Resistors, LEDs), Plate, Screws, Keyswitches (Stickers, Springs, Lube, Stems), Stabilizers, LEDs, Keycaps, USB Cable. All the parts that could possibly go into a keyboard.

Essential are Case, PCB (Controller, Diodes), Screws, Keyswitches, Stabilizers, Keycaps, USB Cable.

this simple answer (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=40501.msg1684170#msg1684170) lists most parts, and also gives a vague cost (although nearly a year ago now).
