Do we have any French users who can comment on this? What layout do you use?

Thought this may be an interesting topic.

The AZERTY layout has sure some problems, firstly, why a Z as the second letter ?  :( This letter is praticly not used in french. Also do write "@", you need to push ctrl + alt + "0" keys, pretty inconvenient. Also I really wish to have an easier access to "é" and "è" which are pretty common in our language. They location isn't that bad but I think It could be better. I can't list everything, that just what went on my mind.

I don't think she is really useful  ;D Yes we have bigger issues to get rid of in France, but these problems like migrants, unemployment rate doesn't rely on culture ministry  :))

You don't think there is a large cultural issue in France that has resulted in the biggest terrorist attacks in Europe since the London and Madrid bombings that where like 10(?) years ago?

:))

This isn't a culture issue, by "Culture" I mean art, like litterature painting... all this stuff depends on the cultural ministry yes. And ther reform for the keyboard layout is from this ministry. But Cultural problems such as integration, immigration don't rely on this ministry.   Well, actually a ministry of immigration, integration did exist but was suppressed  ;D It's now relying more on the Home office (not sure of the word).  I'm having a hard time communicating on this subject in english sorry.

no worries mate, but i really don't think it's solely a problem of immigration and integration as other countries have bigger issues than France in those regards. Italy has a huge immigration problem (similar to Greece and the Greek islands) due to it's proximity to the North African coastline, for example...

...but on topic I have no idea if this keyboard will help the French language, but anything that acts to stop a language progressing and evolving seems like an idiotic waste of time, but then I'm British and the English language is in a constant state of change and evolution.

Difference is that Italy and Greece aren't really engaged in the current conflicts, they didn't go in afghanistan, Mali, and don't drop some bombs on syria/Iraq. Also Because of our now famous newspaper we are more hated by those fanatics  ;D Actually Greece and Italy aren't really a threat to ISIS right now, they just welcome migrants.

They should jump on the Canadian Multilingual layout... But knowing the general French attitude toward Quebec, they'd rather type on hit coals!

Yep maybe, but I have some trouble pressing this key my pinkie, or I should use another finger. I press alt with my  left thumb, it's more convenient to me.

Isn't it still a bit inconvenient to press AltGr and 0 at the same time? They're both on the right side of the keyboard so I guess the best is still holding Ctrl + Alt with your left hand then 0 with your right.

Ah, just realise I was judging the combination on a HHKB which have the Alt at a more far right position than standard keyboard, in which case I can use my thumb and middle fingers for that >.>
