EDIT forgot to mention, AS A PREORDER.
http://www.elitekeyboards.com/products.php?sub=topre_keyboards,rftenkeyless&pid=rf_se1800
for a price that is far more fair than the $400 on Ebay.
Good news.
Unless an Ebayer snatches up all 30.

Now now, that extra $134 covers the Korean lettering!
*coughs*

Only 30 Units Available! This is a joke.
Why did not sell a Realforce with 30g or less keys?

No ploy here. There really are only 30 units coming to the US.
Edit: I should say "official distribution" to the US

hey, if you know you want it now, i think youd still make it, and then it would not matter to you...

Has anyone here used both the 55g and the standard US Realforce boards?
How do they compare?
Impressions?
I thought it was interesting that asian countries seem to prefer boards with uniform keys, or am I mistaken in that assumption?
-
yeah but that is uniform 45 vs uniform 55
i think he was wondering about variable vs uniform in general
-
When I first hopped on my 103u I was instantly in love with it... but then I found myself going back to my Cherry Browns.
I think I might like an all 55g Topre better than the variable standard setup, I feel like I bump the lighter keys too much but this may be due partly to my bad habit of typing some pinky keys with ring fingers.
Now to really complicate things, I've been missing tenkeys since going to filco tenkeyless. I was dead set on getting an 87u but I miss my keypad.
EDIT: I went back to Topres after a day on Cherry browns and have been using them almost exclusively ever since. The variable weighting doesn't bother me, but I'd like to try an all-55g board too.

Want...
Normally (when I'm in Canada), I'd go ahead and pre-order. But it seems kinda dumb to order it back to Japan...

I had read more than one person who claimed that the 55g was not desirable, as all the resistance is present towards the top of the switch, and you end up bottoming out a lot as you had to overcome a lot of force that builds up suddenly (a similar thing happens with the Black Alps switches). That said, I have never tried a Topre keyboard, I'm merely throwing this in for the sake of an alternative viewpoint.

You are right in saying that the resistance is towards the top of the switch. It took me a while to get use to this. At the beginning, my fingers were getting tired after typing for a while.
