Post by: Sku on Sat, 23 January 2016, 22:53:27
Hello everybody!

Long time lurker, decided to make an account after finally getting into a sale last month.

Looking forward to participate on these cool threads, trade stuff and hang around!

Welcome to Geekhack!

Which sale did you get into?

Have you got a mechanical keyboard already (and if so which one) or was it a keyboard sale?

Yes, I've got a V60 with Gateron Yellows on it's way and decided to join after getting into my first artisan sale. I have interest in artisans and easy modification steps like adding LEDs, which is something that I'm planning to do once the board arrives. As a beginner, I'm happy that I found so much material covering such topic on both here and /r/MechanicalKeyboards. I'm also very interested in custom keyset development projects, looking forward to play with ideas!

It's a lot easier to get into this sort of keyboard design now than a few years ago.  Apart from all the community knowledge available, many keyboard component makers have resources available to the enthusiast.
