So the other day on FB, a guy I worked with in the Navy commented on a post and it got put in my feed. The picture he commented on was a close up face shot of a guy with a bunch of tattoos and facial piercings. I personally don't care, I have tattoos, but my personal choice is I will be able to cover them all in formal attire. Not that I am embarrassed or anything about them, but I am still young enough, it could possibly impact jobs and career placement down the road, so that is my choice.
Either way, the caption of the picture was something to the effect of "one word to describe this person". Of course the expected reaction was 95% talking smack and saying stuff like gross, unemployed, disgusting, etc. So I made the comment that the majority of people commenting were *******s for judging people based on looks.
Well, one of those people reached out to me and this is the conversation that ensued. I could care less about covering up names as it is a public displayed forum on the internet so privacy is out the window.
Much more language used here and you have been warned.

Edit: I am just looking at his facebook, says he finished high school in 1972. I am assuming the end of that year. I know Vietnam officially finished like 1975 but I thought United States was wrapping up around 71.
I have only done a little looking but I got that August 23, 1972 - The last U.S. combat troops depart Vietnam.
I would say there is probably a good chance that this person is full of **** and you should send that chat to one of your countries stolen valour organisations as they may be interested. He may be legit but it seems like a very slim chance once you add in training time etc.

why do you even bring that conversation for so long o.O I always ignore people like that after just a couple of lines, it is enough to judge a person's maturity by that actually, people with no valid argument and always go with personal attack/insults are not worth the time.
That said, I've been in some situation with FB too. This one time I shared a Polandball comic about the Nordic, which has a line in the comic that the other Nordic country said to Estonia "**** off". Well it is a common joke if you familiar with the comic. Then the one Estie classmate of mine just jump in and call me a racist for that. I asked him what in the comic and what in the joke that makes me racist. And of course instead of bringing his argument in he came up with how I was an ******* for some one time I let my phone notification tones rang in the class and thus this time I was a racist too adding to that. Well, the relevant level is high with that one I guessed. So when some of my friend saw that and ask him where the racist part is, he suddenly stop commenting on the status but rather than shoot me PM to continue.
I stopped after a few more lines. There's no point in feeding him more though.
Yeah, that kind of person on Facebook is the worst.

To be entirely honest with you this is very extreme and it makes me worried that you shared some details of your family/personal life with this psycho.
This guy is a complete idiot and in Brazil I'd take these images to the police station and file a report, I recommend you to do the same.
Stay safe man.

It's pretty hard to tell the difference if that person is trolling Melvang or not, but the exposure of information is something to worry about, we never know who we are dealing with. Could be a troll and hopefully it was just a kid, but could be a dangerous person as well.

I think it is highly unlikely that it was a kid, I had a pretty good look at his Facebook because holidays and nothing better to do. He had family members with the same last name and similar age brackets. The other friends all appeared legitimate. It was most likely just a guy who was on the booze and decided to mouth off. Or if you believe the story, a lady who probably was mouthing off to her father that a guy was abusing her online so he jumped on and just did the typical thing that morons do.

Do you mean adult from a psychological or biological perspective because I have met and dealt with plenty of adults which are more than happy to carry on like this. I would even say this is tame compared to some of these people
I do agree though that a kid would be more likely to take offence and go to defcon 1 over something that most normal older people would ignore but there are no hard and fast rules, just probabilities.
