Title: Finding a 60% PCB
Post by: mszy52 on Mon, 25 January 2016, 22:51:01
For the past couple months I have aspired to build myself a 60% mech keyboard. I recently bought all the parts necessary for the build, including my pcb, the FaceW from mechanicalkeyboards.com.
My purchase of they pcb was refunded as they site said that they were out of stock and now I am stuck without a pcb.
I have been looking around on Gons and saw a pcb but it was too expensive, saw the GH60 on ebay but it takes 2 months to ship.
I am looking for a 60% pcb that is sub $60 mark but I can't find one!
If anyone knows where to buy a 60% pcb please help me out.

There's the Satan GH60 on Taobao (http://world.taobao.com/search/search.htm?_ksTS=1453791735884_20&spm=a21bp.7806943.20151106.1&search_type=0&_input_charset=utf-8&navigator=all&json=on&q=gh60%20pcb&cna=YxPYDiN2yDECAWu4s3vLQDqw&callback=__jsonp_cb&abtest=_AB-LR517-LR854-LR895-PR854-PV517_2372-PV895_2462) and B.Face (http://winkeyless.kr/product/b-face-x2-pcb/) off the top of my head.

The Satan GH60 can be found on Aliexpress and eBay as well but the B.Face X2 is a much better board.

You could also purchase a sprit pcb from sprit which is essentially a facew

I recommend you to get a GON Nerd60, it costs a bit more than others but the build quality and the programming interface rock.

Have a B.face and can confirm that it rocks. It was my first custom board, so the GUI was a bit confusing, but now that I've experienced other PCBs and interfaces and I can say safely that Wkl.kr's structure is awesome and very customizable. Even the LEDs and RGBs are more customizable than others I've experienced.

Diodes and resistors are only needed if you want LED backlightning, right?
So a NerD60, B.Face or Satan GH60 PCB would be ready to go if you don't want LEDs?

You will need the diodes no matter what for the NKRO issue.

Resistors are more for the in switch LEDs, so yes if you don't want in switch leds, go on ahead. Someone with one of the winkeyless products should verify this statement though.

You need diodes for switches, if you want to install LEDs you will need resistors for them. The Nerd60 comes with only surface mount components pre-soldered, the diodes are pass trough, so they are very easy to solder, but the resistors are SMD so it would take a bit more skills to solder them. You may want to check my thread on Nerd60 at making stuff together, that shows some pictures on it.

Well personal opinion so to start.
I own both board but the B.Face has macros and some kind of documentation and support. The Satan GH60 is pretty much something you have to figure on your own.

Ah, thank you very much mate.

I wanted to buy the GH60 soon, because I don't need leds or fancy makros and it's the cheapest.

Now I'm unsure since you guys recommended the NerD60 and the B.Face.  :-X

If you don't need anything fancy then you don't need the Korean PCBs. If you want full customizability, then they can't be beat!

But I need something to solder the Zealios on.

Then the GH60 is fine.
