Hello Geekhack,

This isn't quite my first post since I've already started a build log (over here: https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=78992) but I thought I'd introduce myself here anyway.

I'm located in the mountainous heart of Europe, but I switched to ANSI layout with my second keyboard for the sake of aftermarket keycaps.

Speaking of which, here are my two babies, a HHKB w/ pbt spacebar and a Shine 4 with clears and those vortex translucent pbt + pom doubleshots. You can probably guess which precedes the other  :p
(Excuse the atrocious cable, that's an attempt gone horribly wrong that I haven't bothered to fix).

I also have a half-disassembled cherry mx board 3.0 (my first mech) in ISO with browns whose fate is still undecided laying around somewhere.

As you can probably guess by my build log, I like to tinker with things. You can expect to see more in the future as I learn about all the things surrounding the designing and building of keyboards (currently thinking of making a 40% with gateron clears just for the fun of it).

I love the poster on the wall.

You should totally do a 40% board, they are awesome! 

this is my 40% which I am currently designing a pcb for.

Welcome to Geekhack!

Sadly support for ISO layouts is somewhat spotty, but definitely improving!  ANSI will definitely give you a much wider range of keycap sets to choose from.

Great workspace too!  An inspirational poster on the wall the plenty of space for keyboard maintenance :)

Please explain me... how do you use that in practice? I have a hard time figuring out how that is practical. Not to flame, really curious about it.

It's actually quite easy and I prefer it.  I move the missing keys to function layers. Not having to stretch my fingers around I have much greater success hitting the right key. I use it for both programming and gaming. The key in the lower right is a toggle key that switches the layout to a more suitable layout for games

I have seen the JD45 and it is sexy.   I'll be keeping an eye on the GB
