Hello all!
I've been looking into this for a while now. I've read some of the great threads that discuss some amazing artisans detailing their journey (Boopers thread and two more).
I'm a terrible artist so I expect nothing to come of this, but I have to say the process looks like the most enjoyable thing in the world to me for some reason.
I've been looking around, some go with Alumilite and others don't
I was just wondering if the Super Casting Kit by Alumilite is a decent starter kit, of should I find another company/buy better parts individually.

It's going to be a bit of trial and error finding out what works best for you. Just remember to get a .00 gram scale and be thorough in your measurements.

I figured as much. I think I'll be giving Alumilite a go, after one more read through of all the epic keycap threads. Thanks, Binge! :)
Seen some YouTube videos where someone is using alumilite, and is casting simple resin pieces, but he doesn't seem to have any air bubble problems. I hear however, that I will be drowning in bubbles.
Eitherway, I haven't been this excited to try something in a while.
EDIT: Also, thank you very much for taking the time to document the start of your journey. Your thread documenting your adventures with resin has been absolutely invaluable to me!
EDIT2: After much much more research, I can safely say I've done a relatively thorough amount of research. Decided to move away from Alumilite, both mold and resin are Smooth-On now. I've ordered a bunch of stuff and was gonna do a write up of what I've learned so far, as I think it would be cool to document this adventure from the beginning, but I'll do it in the Making Stuff Together subforum
