Title: Strange LED issue with B.Face X2
Post by: Cindori on Sun, 31 January 2016, 07:31:19
I purchased a B.face X2 PCB a while ago and just finished assembling it.
I soldered switches+LEDs myself, rest was bought pre-soldered.

I have bright white LEDs in the switches and it worked perfectly fine for a couple of days. I set up Fn shortcuts for LED light settings, tried all settings out, worked great.

Now all of a sudden when I plug in the keyboard, the LED lights are dark. Then when I press any key, the LED (for all the keys) lights up for 3 seconds, and then fades out completely over 2-3 seconds. I can still turn the LED on-off using shortcuts, and the caps lock LED stays on like normal when pressed.

Video of the issue here (http://www.cindori.org/video/ledissue.mp4)

What’s going on here? Did I break something during soldering? Why did it work fine for 5 days straight?

You have the LEDs in the fading mode instead of the ON mode. They fade in while you are typing and fade out when you stop. There's an "LED Mode" key you can bind to a function layer to change this, or you can change with bootmapper client.

Thanks, I should say that I did first expect this to be some lightning mode, but the thing is I tried reflashing with firmware straight from the web and it's still the same. Is there any reset option in the bootmapper client I've missed?

EDIT: Got support from Winkeyless: http://winkeyless.kr/forums/topic/switch-led-issue/
It was some mode I entered by mistake.  :thumb:
