Post by: PQTran on Wed, 10 February 2016, 02:45:36
Hello world!

First time joining a community like this, so I hope I'll get along and learn lots from yall!

Some history on my keyboard collection, my first mech keyboard (Novatouch tkl ;D) is on it's way.
I started on one of these bad boys: http://i.imgur.com/1wFSYft.jpg
I got this a while ago: http://i.imgur.com/gO9JU.jpg
And I've been using this at work  :): http://imgur.com/8ZV79Jt

It's almost 1am over here, so I'm going to sleep since I have work in 8 hours haha.
Looking forward to talking to yall soon.

Cheers!

Interesting, planning on replacing the standard keyset or keeping it stock?

Welcome to Geekhack!

I feel sorry for you at work :(  I replaced my Dell rubber dome keyboard with a variety of real keyboards, currently a CODE with MX clears.

Nice touch, starting with a Novatouch :)  Mind you, Topre switches might spoil you.  Any plans to replace the stock keycaps?

Yes, absolutely! I'm very new to the mechanical keyboard scene so I'm currently in search of some quality key caps
that would look on a black keyboard. Actually that's one thing I like about the novatouch, it's open to use with MX cherry keycaps  ;D
Any recommendations on keycaps?

Thank you :D! Sometimes I feel a little bad for them though haha

I've heard many good things about topre switches, and I recently got reimbursed from an online rebate on my monitors so I didn't mind
splurging on my first mech keyboard. I hope it can live up to my expectations haha :D
I saw these sets of key caps and thought it would be perfect but they seem to be unavailable :(

Yes, the Hack'd by Geeks group buy is well and truly over and done with.  Sets do crop up occasionally in classifieds, if you keep an eye out.
