Title: Hello from Germany!
Post by: Krait on Wed, 10 February 2016, 10:07:39
Hi guys, i got here because i wanted to participate in an Interest Check for backlit PBT caps, since then i have bought 2 more mechs, and finally joined the Topre club.
I absolutely love mech keyboards, and plan to build my own soon.
Hopefully you guys will accept me as one of you, and make my journey through the keyboard world a bit more interesting :)

Welcome to Geekhack!

Seems like there are lots of German members :)

Which keyboards did you buy?  What switches have they got?

Yeah, it seems. My first mech was a blackwidow 2013 with blue switches, I liked it, except for the spacebar stabiliser that always got out, and at that time I didn't know how to fix it. I got my money back for it, and now I hot a k70rgb with mx reds, which I am selling right now, a quickfire rapid I which I bought 3 weeks ago, with mx browns, and few days ago, I bought a novatouch tkl, which I absolutely love. I kind of made my journey through 4 boards already, but I still don't know as much about mechs as you guys :)

Just start reading threads and you'll pick up lots of information in no time.

And that's quite an impressive range of keyboards to start with - have you found your favourite switch yet?

Well my favourite switch now is the topre switch in my novatouch, but I haven't tried any alps switches, I haven't tried clears and the variations, I haven't tried buckling springs... Only the more common stuff, but I have found that I kind of like every switch, I haven't found any which I wouldn't use.

There's lots and lots of Alps switches, about 8 or 9 Cherry MX switches, Gateron switches, Kailh switches, M and F buckling springs, 35g, 45g and 55g Topre, and those are just the common switches!
