Yo I'm sure there are other cubers here, so what's up? What do you average, how long have you been doing it, all that jazz
I've been going for about 3 years now, consistent sub-12 average, and Gans 356 for my main. I think 4x4 is pretty rad too.
if nobody else does I probably sound crazy, but that's alright

sub11, 10 years at the end of this year, thunderclap.

Had to Google cubers.

Is cubing SFW to google.

I used to back in the day, when they were still new.
No times anything like what you guys are getting, but I was pretty happy back then with a consistent 45s or so.
My record is about 3s, but I'm not counting that as I must have done the first few moves exactly reversing what someone else did to scramble it.

About as SFW as something can get.

Damn, that's quite a while. What cubes were even relevant then? Wasn't that when the alphas first came out?

The Alpha cubes were a year or two after that.
The first DIYs were Type A.. down to type F. Type A was great, B was crap, C was decent, D/E crap and F was amazing.
Then there were cube4you cubes. I used a mix of cube4you and type A for a long time.
I actually came up with the name Alpha in 2010: Link (https://www.speedsolving.com/forum/showthread.php?19984-Announcement-Alpha-%91%E5%9B%BD%E7%94%B2%92(Type-A)%92s-official-English-name-Winner%85%85) to the thread where they announced the name change.

I've been slowly learning new algorithms over the years but definitely not competitive. Currently sub 40 using F2L, any tips for progress?

Just make sure to learn f2l by heart, and look for other corners whilist you do the f2l. 2 look oll and pll is the best to learn after that

Mostly just practice. 2 look OLL/PLL is a good place to start if you haven't learned that already. The most important thing though is just practice, especially on your efficiency.
