Title: Hello GeekHackers
Post by: Moufinure on Tue, 16 February 2016, 14:07:31
Hello everybody out there.

Finally, I joined.
I got introduced to mechanical keyboards in 2012 after reading some articles on the web. I decided it was time to leap in!
Since, I'm collecting mechs for my own entertainment... (Who said WalletHack?)  :D

As of today, my lilttle collection contains:

I'm really can't decide which is best, so I keep rotating between those... Even as short as 15 minutes!!!

And, currently, I'm really intersted in trying ALPS switches...

Edit: I'm a software developer, and a computer hobbyist, and I learned myself to touch type.

Welcome to Geekhack!

That's an impressive collection!  A good variety of boards and an excellent variety of switches.

Do you use QWERTY, or AZERTY?

I'd like to try Alps one day, after having read through the Alps appreciation thread (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=45456.0).  The problem is finding Alps keyboards down here.

Thanks.
All my boards are AZERTY except one: the KBC Poker which is QWERTY.

I think I'll wait a bit before buying another boards (ALPS or whatever)... because of WalletHack  :))

Best AZERTY supporter NA!

Er, or France, as the case may be.

Do you have many problems swapping between AZERTY and QWERTY?

Hmm, actually, it's not that easy. I tried once typing a long text with the Poker. I ended up taking hours to get up to speed with the AZERTY again.
I'm more comfortable typing English with an AZERTY board than QWERTY... Maybe it's just me.

No, it's probably the layout you are most familiar with.

I know it's not such a big difference in layout, but for a while after I got my HHKB, when I switched back to a more conventional TKL layout I kept pressing \\\\\ instead of backspace.
