Title: I made something!
Post by: TheRavenDog on Tue, 16 February 2016, 16:08:11
It's super simple and super geeky: my new name plate at work.

I'm going to TAP plastic to get a clear base plate so you can see the keys actuate.

Pretty cool, what switches do they reside on?

It was super easy.

Here's what I did.
- Start with a PC122 Model M
- Cut all the rivets (like a BoltMod)
- With a sharp knife cut off the F1-F24 part of the barrel assembly. For my name I only needed 22 characters.
- Before you put in the paddles, secure (with little bolts) the barrel assembly to your name plate. TAP plastics can make a clear name plate for about $8.
- Un-bolt the barrel assembly from the name plate.
- Put in all the paddles.
- Re-bolt the barrel assembly to the name plate (very carefully).
- Put in your key stems.
- Put on your key caps.

um, so this doesn't actually do anything except look good?

May I suggest adding an LED strip then, just for fun?
