Hi everyone.

I've linked a video of me typing on my model M for your viewing pleasure.  It's a '94 made by Lexmark with a few Unicomp replacement caps.


I just got an HHKB (printed white) that I will do a video on.  As well as a modded AT101W.

Typed on my 1994 Lexmark SSK with some Unicomp keycaps too!

The sounds are so similar, I have your video playing in the background as I'm typing this, and they sound exactly the same :)

Which of your keyboards do you prefer?

I would drown a toddler for the chance to see an SSK in person.  Unicomp *said* they would make an SSK... Unicomp, where art thou?

Right now, the order is: Packard Bell 5130<my modded AEKI(because I can't get it to work :(...)I<Dell AT101W<Model M ~ HHKB

Initially I hated the HHKB because it felt like another rubber dome, but the feel and sound have grown on me.  In some ways its better than my model M, in some ways not.  Just different but still very nice to type on.  Both are acceptable for gaming.  I play a lot of CS:GO on both boards.

I tend to use HHKB during the week (like now) so I don't keep everyone else in the house awake.

SSK on weekends (unless my desk is sufficient clean, in which case I'll dig one of the full size Model M out).

I would hope it would be produced with new tooling. Hmm, I should search to see how people are covering their unicomp cases   :cool:
