I think it guess back to my more involved mod days on /r/buildapc. "Let's talk" was always chode for "I'm lazy and don't want to do any research even though there are literally hundreds of easy to understand guides on this **** that a 5 second googling will turn up". Ever since then it's been like nails on a chalkboard to me.

That had to be a rough sub to mod. I used to browse randomly just for giggles, and to live vicariously through the people that were spending insane $$$. It was always obvious who wanted you to build their PC for them, and who genuinely just wanted to make sure they had the best options for their budget.

I was really big into that world when I was younger and was very familiar with how to build a computer, but didn't want to catch up on the last 6 years of tech advances and all that. Just tell me what's good these days and I'll go from there. (mostly focusing on GPUs, CPU sockets, and such, since their naming conventions don't mean a whole lot)

Same here; spent a few months learning everything pc wise and then helped whoever I could as I had all the knowledge and knew how long it took me.
