I've been obsessed with keyboards; and more broadly human input for as long as I remember.

I own :
- Matias Ergo pro
- Kinesis Freestyle
- Ergodox - MX blue
- Infinity keyboard - Matias quiet switches
- Quickfire Rapid - MX brown

My preference goes for mechanical, split boards, with layouts that are not too esoteric. Therefore the Ergodox didn't end up ever suiting my needs, and I'm looking to hopefully sell it here.

With the proceeds, I might get : the UHK (https://ultimatehackingkeyboard.com/)

Hey there! I like the idea of the UHKB but I dislike the cost of each add-on module. Can one replace the stock key caps? Welcome  ^-^

Hello and welcome! I've actually been thinking of building an Ergodox, what were your thoughts on it? It would be my first 'ergonomic' keyboard.

Regarding the ergodox :

I think it's all a matter of point of view,
I realized that I prefer staggered keys instead of columns, because it makes it harder for me to go from one keyboard to another.
Also I always kept fiddling with the layout, never finding something that would work with all my workflows.
I think it could be a great keyboard if you're willing to invest the time and build your muscle memory.

I have in mind to sell it for $180. As a little nice bonus I've added "deep dish" keycaps on F and J to make it easier to find your way on the home row.

Welcome to Geekhack!

Interesting thoughts on the ErgoDox.  Some members say it is the holy grail of keyboards, but this is an interesting perspective to the contrary.

I prefer a more conventional TKL ANSI layout, but that's just me :p

So far my favorite keyboard is the Matias ergo pro.
It's split, very conventional layout, and the matias quiet switches are the best I've tried for typing so far. I might consider mx clear next since it's much easier to find keycaps.

Quiet click?  Those switches seem the most popular.

Clears would probably be a lot heavier, so try a keyboard with clears before you buy, if you can.
