Title: Switching from OEM to Cherry profile: what's it like?

The main section of a “Cherry profile” keyboard is going to be lower, which may make a very slight reduction to key wobble. The main differences (apart from the height step difference and possible differences in surface finish) is going to be to the sound. Different thicknesses, sizes, and plastic materials lend subtly different sounds to the switches.

Which one you think sounds or feels better is down to personal preference though.

Theres definitely a noticeable difference between cherry and oem profiles caps tho,
and even with the difference in hight and shape being rather minimal its still enough for me to pick cherry over oem in terms of look & feel.

Most people on here prefer the less tall and more pronounced shape of the classic og cherry profile, but its not to extreme of a difference that would take you long to get used to.

Also, like already mentioned, its important to note that cherry-branded keyboard doesn't necessarily mean caps are cherry profile.
Theres many cherry-branded non-mechanical boards that are using even less tall hybrid profiles.

I can't agree more with this, for me having thinner keycaps would give a more feel of the switch

But it's all personal preference, some people can stand SA, some love DSA

But personally I found cherry profile has the best feel, and love it thin

And now my hand just can't handle oem or even any other profile, I type slower with them too and keep losing track of where my fingers are due to different sculpt

I went from OEM to SA before trying Cherry though so that was probably a weirder shift to do
