Title: A challenger appears

Greetings GH'ers. I had an account on here long ago but forgot the username or password or even email address I used. Back then, I was looking up info on bolt-modding a Model M.

My daily driver is a Unicomp Endurapro. I also have a Matias Laptop Pro for travel, and just got a Planck (PCB) with Cherry MX Greens.

Current projects are:

• figuring out my ideal layout for my Planck
• Planning my handwired build for my next Planck (or possibly Atomic)
• SIP socket mod for my PCB Planck
• Planning a TKL build for my girlfriend (shhh, it's a surprise)
• Making USB cables

Future plans:

• Get better keycaps for my Matias Laptop Pro
• Experiment with plasti-dip
• Pick up some artisan caps, at least one per board

Someday, maybe:

• Restore and completely replace the controller on an AEKII to make it USB compatible
• Learn about Bluetooth?! I know almost nothing about it
• LED build where each key's LED can be controlled individually
• Build an Ergodox Infinity or similar because I've never played with split boards before
• Learn woodworking and make a custom wood case

Sounds awesome, did you notice any tooling marks on your Unicomp keyboard? Welcome  :)

Tooling marks? Nah, I didn't notice any :). Some of the keycaps do have those little marks on the back. Thanks!

That dot in the middle of the board. I understand that this mark is pretty common for the new Unicomp keyboards.  ^-^

Welcome (back) To Geekhack!

I vaguely recall a balthazar (or similar) several years ago, but it might have been on a different forum.  A brief search did not reveal anything.

Some great projects you have lined up!

By the way did you ever end up successfully bolt-modding that Model M?  And what happened to it?
