I sort of screwed up (broke it off) the plate where the diode gets soldered on. So i soldered it a bit further over to make the connection. Will this still work or am I screwed? (http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160225/a12b865483f73a1733d20de2080f7d3f.jpg)

I know that's a crap job (the others look good) but I tried to fix it and made it worse....

I don't think you'll be able to tell by just visual inspection. Get a multimeter and check it out. If anything get a toothbrush and some isopropyl alcohol and clean it up.

The diode may be burnt. I happen to have about 2500 SMD type diodes here, so if you need one or two, I could send them to you for the price of shipping (might be better to just buy a bunch on ebay though, since they are dirt cheap anyway...)

OK thanks for the help. That's the same connector though right? For the through diode and the plate diode?

My diodes are the plate style, although they look a bit different (the ones I have are the same style that GON and winkeyless use)
I will have some through hole diodes that I would send, but they are still in transit from China, so I have no idea when they will actually get here... XD

it works!!!!!! Only had to resolder 2 diodes. Easy and then all the keys worked. Bam! So pumped.
Cherry MX Brown switches.

Glad you got it working. You can also test your diode(s) with a simple multimeter, you should only get a voltage reading in one direction ( + -). If your multimeter shows a voltage reading in both directions, your diode is bad.

It was the soldering job (me!) not the diode. Thanks though!!!!!!
