First (to my knowledge) mechanical keyboard meetup in Tokyo :) it's more like a keyboard party so let's just get together, bring our keyboards and have fun!

- (maybe) hasu the creator of TMK, HHKB controller and many more
- Me and my friends from local startups, meetups, etc
Please let me know if you want to participate either here or via PM. I need to know the number of participants to reserve a meetup space.
Event program
Like other meetups I've been to I think we can stay at the meetup space for a couple of hours, and then go have a lunch or hang around for the rest of the day. However if you want to have a presentation of sorts, just let me know :)
Things to do / in progress
- We're still waiting for a reply from Topre and Archiss. Since it's an unofficial hobbyist meetup, they might be a bit reluctant to participate.
- Need someone to help me make a short announcement in Japanese for a facebook and meetup.com event pages.
- Still looking for an office or event space to have the meetup in.
- Could always use some suggestions from other meetup organizers on things to do, topics to discuss etc.

I was just in China for 5 months.. and hopped over to jpn for 2 weeks 2 months ago.
if only this was earlier.. I'm really h8n' these international flights cuz i'm not super rich yet to afford better seats.

Today's meetup was a huge success! Thanks everyone for coming!

- If you made some photos, please send a copy to me so that we could use it for promo materials for the next meetup
- Also please don't forget to edit out the WiFi password on the whiteboard cause it's a private company network

Sure! Sherry, Wooting, Archiss aka the huge Japanese company that sells Topre, Duckies, Tex, etc. Maybe more people too I totes forgot. There was also chrisandreae (https://geekhack.org/index.php?action=profile;u=23484) with his new super secret keyboard project :)

調子はどう？ Wow, I wish I'd know about this earlier this year. I doubt I could've actually attended (imagine having enough dough to hop on a plane and fly all the way from Canada to Tokyo just to hang out with some KB people!), but I could've had some fun thinking about it.
It looks like you had a great time. It was especially cool to see the Japanese Model M's, and Nakazato-san's excellent custom graphic caps (so many in one place!).
I played music at the opening of Tokyo Disneyland back in the '80s. It seems like a long time ago. (Oh, actually it was a long time ago.) Japan is amazing—I'd love to visit there again sometime. Cheers, A.
