So the following picture is a screen shot I took after realizing what it was at amazon.com. Does this make me a nerd or a geek?
What other traits or events help define this distinction?

no it makes u a person interested in keyboards and legos.
-
geek and nerd are kindof the same..
mm.. i'd say, both keyboard and legos are more geek, than nerd..
I've always thought NERD, was more towards -books-
-
Geeks are basically smart nerds, or at least that was my understanding.
-
maybe obsessed?
Like my shopping suggestion are either keyboard related stuff, stormtroopers and shoes

From what I recall, geeks are those with a keen interest on a particular subject, while nerds are usually classified as those with greater intellectual capacities (and that really make it obvious).
Here's a fun picture of the two:

And of course it all comes down to however you want to define it.

A "geek" is a nerd who bites the heads off chickens.
-
I'm a keyboard collector and doing PhD in a natural science, so I almost certainly qualify for both :p .

I always thought nerd would be used to talk about someone who is interested with something (for lack of a better term) real, like computers or stuff. A geek would apply to someone who likes things that are more fictional, like Star Wars or Lord of the Rings.

A nerd is is someone who gets paid to be a geek.
At least that's what a teacher told me a long time ago.
