Hi all,

I'm just another wandering traveller in the world of boards, trying to find what's best for me. I am from Vancouver but am currently studying in Bristol. DT and GH have been of great help to me for various keyboard-related matters. Thus, it was about time I joined this interesting community. I own:

debezeled Ducky Mini 2014 w/ DSA Blanks
Pok3r w/ DSA Dye-sub (unfortunately for my wallet, I am infatuated with SP's DSA keysets although I believe that I can withstand the urge...for now)

What tempted me to join was the fact that I have a 60% case coming in from Seal Woodworking. I browsed the interwebs for custom wood cases after the purchase and stumbled upon some GH threads where some user (Inanis, that it?) was showcasing some of his wooden creations and judging from the existence of a user by the same name over at Massdrop and the similarities in case design, I deduced that he must be running the business. Also am a huge admirer of matt3o's creations.

Anyways, not much interesting about me, perhaps aside from the fact that I frequently carry my keyboard and desktop around on international air travel, which is why I stick to 60% and mini-ITX.

Cheers and thanks for all the useful info that I have gleaned from GH before coming here. Lookin forward to chatting with you guys.

Welcome, maybe you could start a travel blog on GH so all of us can live vicariously though your adventures (http://i.imgur.com/uqZTquW.gif)

In all seriousness I've had my eye on SP's dye sublimated caps for a while now. The order of finding GH for me was WASD->PIMPMYKEYBOARDS->REDDIT->DESKTHORITY->GH  ;)

Welcome to the thread exanile! There's definitely a lot of stuff to try and you came to the right place to find it

You should definitely post a photo of that case when it arrives!

My brother is building an mitx system now and it's really got me tempted.. Not sure how I will move all my radiators into a case that small though :p

Nice couple of keyboards - so many people have a Pok3r I'm almost tempted to get one myself (except what would I do with my other dozen keyboards ...).

Thanks! I will make sure I do, and perhaps a photo of the sawed-off Ducky as well.
Building restrictions are a bit different for me, at least for this rig because I pack it in a Pelican 1510 for travel. There are a lot of slightly bigger mITX cases suitable for rads though.

Haha well, unfortunately my travels are limited to simple A ==> B, although sometimes trips can be quite long. So there's not a lot to document, aside from the usual CATSA / Border Force shenanigans when they encounter my SG08 in a Pelican 1510 or Pok3r wrapped up in a pillowcase sleeve 
The dye-sub will be my second set of DSA from SP; my first set was a GKK/NEM blank set that is on my Ducky Mini. It is great, the spacebar especially well done.

Well I feel embarrassed now   Not much of a great first impression eh

I like the Pok3r but a few things (namely switches a bit loose compared to my DMini) have me looking towards a possible replacement for my Ducky Mini, something a little more customizable that puts me in control. I'm thinking of building a 60% in the Pok3r case (which, hopefully will become free soon with the arrival of the new case) with MX Black and a custom plate. I've tinkered with the swillkb plate designer but not sure about corner radius needed to fit in the Pok3r case. The stock Pok3r case appears to have low QC and has been painted poorly. But I also have no experience with soldering and no place to solder at the moment so I think I'll have to wait.

Anonymous gender non-specific aliases don't help matters.  I still not sure if I know who all the non-male members are, although I suspect tp4 is keeping a close count :))

As far as the corner radius, I have no idea, but it sounds like a good quick question (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=40501.0).

And for soldering, there is the living soldering thread (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=42824.0).

You can practice soldering by finding an old broken piece of electronics (say a DVD player), pulling it apart to get the the PCB, then desoldering and resoldering components at random.  You don't need to worry about breaking anything - it would be broken already.  And once you've done a dozen or so solders you get the hang of it pretty quickly.
