They did it last year too.  It's lame, especially when people with obvious bots/scripts deny it, but Clack is working some stuff to make it so that their bots/scripts are ineffective.

This year it seems that it is being diverted by clack man rules. You cannot program a script to follow random rules.

tapemonkey or greasemonkey
some javascript code
search function for textarea
input to text area
search for submit
refresh and loop until submit has been found and click

clackman please I hope you see this its not hard to make one

last year it was very obvious that the .. edit:i didnt accuse anyone no ban pls  :)) I'm being vague as to who for obvious reasons

if he keeps it up with the random rules and requirements the scripts should be pretty useless

cc is working around it. And if it is speed alone, it is very possible to just refresh on a quick connection and be 1st-5th in if the requirement is just a nonsense post.

Haha people actually do that? Does that Clack guy have something against raffles?

He does raffles through EK. It has been a while, but he does do it. Obviously he enjoys this clackvent thing, and others have fun with it as well.

Don't let it torture you.

Its different and I can see how it appeals to people. But it seems fairly easy to "break", just like having "the most upvoted comment" on Reddit. Seen it tried a million times and it almost always ends up getting changed in the end. Thats why I had pick all the winners when I give stuff away :)

Point is... don't be "angry".

Play YOUR game.

So far those who have played fair have been rewarded. For example, look at nubbs last night; he always has a mspaint ready to go for laughs, so I'm sure it was easier for him to get a screeny and get it posted up real fast.

Some people just don't read, as noisy is alluding to. Just because they post something unrelated to rules may just mean they are ignoring anything but the "Reply" button lighting up. It does not mean they are using some kind of unfair method. In fact, they are screwing themselves if they are.

yes, i won during the beginning of the contest when the first post was the winner, and before other people managed to figure out how to do the quick replies.  i did a lot of research with the forum pages back then when the contest began.

you certainly don't need a script to do a fast reply, and it is actually possibly slower if you write a poor one or use a slow engine.

It would be nice if he did a few that he kept open for a while but actually required thought. Like best keyboard related pun or draw something specific in MS Paint and he judges, so people would put a little more thought and time into something that (in my opinion) is worth more than the energy it takes to simply pxsajdfhgscdbpv8iugh

... I do like a good .gif though, I cannot tell a lie

It isn't the best way of doing it but you certainly shouldn't be angry about it. His choice so he knows its possible to use scripts, if he wanted not scripts then the rules would be changed.

You should write a script like the rest of us.

He did have a fairly early sale a few days ago, and I'm sure he'll continue to vary up the hours for you.

Alternatively, you could trade dog photos for Clacks.

this

with these things it pays to be fast, most of the time, people just post anything to get tehre post there, and they can then edit it within the rules or question, unless of course the edit function is removed

last year, i would be around a ton, and by the time i had read the initial post etc, hit reply, typed something and clicked send it would be too late, or the amouont of time id hit reply, and gh would just grind to a halt

I know where to begin, but a few of the details are hazy, and I'd take far longer than I'd be prepared to spend to write one.

Besides deep down I'd think it was cheating.
