Title: Is there any database of all existing keycap sets?
Post by: spanyam on Mon, 07 March 2016, 14:37:57
I'm looking to build my first custom board, and finding out what kinds of keycap sets are available is becoming rather confusing. It's not really about the jargon (because that can be learned / inferred easily), but it's the fact that unless someone starts a group buy or puts up a classified, it's difficult to know that a certain keycap set even EXISTS.

The other challenge is the cost of making a wrong choice. I have some color ideas in mind, but until I see a good keycap set, I don't feel right dropping 50 to 100+ dollars on a set that might not really fit. And after settling for one and spending the money, it might be rather irritating to find out a better set was available that I never knew about.

So, is there any database of keycap sets? If such a database doesn't already exist, can we start one as a community? All we need to do is to list some basic information:

Optional information:

So, does such a database exist? And if it doesn't, will this be something that you would be willing to contribute to if a platform were provided? I could set up a simple wiki, searchable and sortable, to present this information.

This has been attempted. One of the better attempts is here http://keypuller.com/ (http://keypuller.com/)

Also this tracker might be helpful http://keyset.me/

Wow, that's excellent presentation. It's pretty much what I had in mind :) It's missing quite a few sets, though, so it can use some contribution. I'll take a look into that.

keyset.me is incredible too. Thanks for both! EDIT: It's crazy outdated though. Most links lead to dead group buys or interest checks =/
