Interesting new system in the works at Amazon for ensuring better on time shipments. So allow me to explain in that almost everything i order for my Youtube channel, lots of stuff for work, lots of stuff for personal use i order via Amazon. I am also like many a Prime member mostly for the two day guaranteed free shipping....since dec 2015 it has been a nightmare with i'd estimate almost 40% of my shipments being 1-2 days late...some lost etc. Now while amazon has been a class act about it giving full refunds like candy to a kid...even for stuff just a day late..it is getting increasingly annoying. I called yet again today as yet another overnight shipment due today...looks like it was delayed until Thursday. After doing the phone switch song and dance again they yet refunded me again...extended prime again...however this time gave me to an account specialist letting me know i am far from alone and it's a MAJOR problem for amazon US wide lately, so taking effect within the next few weeks they are going to be activating the following system.
Account prioritized partner shipping...what this means basically is they monitor your amazon account and if customer A that lives in TX constantly has USPS shipments late or missing usps moves to the bottom of his shipping partner priority list...where as if customer B lives in NH and constantly has UPS issues in his area on his account amazon will prioritize FEDEX or the USPS and so forth to try to cut down on issues nation wide and pick the best shipping partner for that customers location.
Pretty cool idea if it all works properly, i for one am very happy to see amazon is doing something to address the constant issues as of late.
Not sure if this is old news but i found it fairly interesting at least talking on the phone about it.

This is great news for me. And it means Amazon will finally stop using FedEx to ship my packages next day air. UPS is far superior for me, while others might have a different experience.

I just had another item not show up last week. Refund issued, no questions asked. Today i ordered some LED light bulbs at lunch, standard 2day prime... and they showed up 4 hours later.

UPS is the absolute bane of my existence. Honestly, I can't really speak on Fedex since I don't even remember the last time I got a Fedex package

If done right this will be awesome.
I don't really have any major issues in my area with delays (it's occasional) unless it's those times of the year where USPS as a whole is slammed like the holidays. The last couple of amazon packages I've received have been through UPS so maybe amazon knows something I don't :))

Amazon has asked me in the past (months ago) which shipper I preferred for certain things that would get damaged repeatedly.
But I have noticed lately prime shipping isn't nearly as good as it used to be as far as delivery speed goes.

i only do same-day sunday deliveries (via dynamex in dallas) to really get the most out of that ~$8/mo subscription ;D
