What's the deal with the solid blue badge on that one?  Can't say I've ever seen that before.

That is some serious ****.

Glad I am looking at click-modded orange for my next build, in hopes that (fully scrutinized, cleaned, and lubed) they will be even better than blues.

Here’s one in much better condition, starting at $100:

No blue label though.

Compare to the pics of the one that went for $475 + shipping:

$475

What is up with these insanely high prices lately? Not that long ago I saw a MCK with SKCM Blues go unsold with a $50 starting bid. Should have grabbed it.

E3E raised the interesting possibility these may be shill accounts, and/or trolls.

Look at the people placing these huge bids right at the start--they're no-name accounts with zero feedback. Definitely a nice way to artificially inflate the price of whatever it is you want to sell, I guess.

The thing is, even if blue ALPS are the most amazing experience known to mankind, you've still gotta fight the layout and poor compatibility (isn't this an XT board?)

I wonder if they'd do just as well desoldering the switches and selling them that way.  Then at least you can put it into a decent layout donor or new PCB.

These have been around if not over $100 for a year now.

e: started watching these in Nov '14 and they were that price.

It looks like the one in the OP has been relisted (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Leading-Edge-DC-2014-Mechanical-Keyboard-Blue-Alps-Switches-/141944976794). Maybe the person who bid $475 was just making a sarcastic comment on  the Alps Blue mania.  :?)

All these auctions have been trolled by people who drove up the price and then backed out of the deals. They left the vendors hanging for several weeks. In short; none of the high prices you've seen of late have been actually paid.

THESE MARKET VALUES ARE NOT REAL VALUES.

If you have one to sell, don't put it up for auction, use Buy It Now. Go Dutch auction if you will, but don't waste your time with a bidding auction.
