Does anybody know what happened to the website for mechanicalkeyboards.com? It seems to have been out of commision for the last 48 hours? Is it temporary or permanent?
-
I have had no problems accessing it within the time frame you have specified. Working currently as well.
-
No issues for me, either
-
Interesting. I used bookmarks as well as typing it into the browser. I don't really have a solution. Maybe the problem will right itself. It doesn't work when using the google search results either. Strange.
-
Did you try a different browser/computer?
-
Strange, it works at work. At home I cannot get it to load. After about 30 seconds it simply times out. I don't have another computer to use here, but this is working lightening fast. I've tried loading it from bookmarks as well as browser history and search engine results. I have tried several browsers, all with the same result.
-
What is really strange is that I just tried opening a VPN and I can then browse the website. If I close the VPN I can no longer navigate the site; it simply times out again. It's as if my IP address is blocked for some reason. I am stumped.

It's probably your DNS not working right. Open a command prompt, and type "ipconfig /flushdns" then try it again. You might also need to clear the cache and cookies on your browser.

I think they have been doing some inventory changes. I wasn't able to check out a day ago .

I flushed the DNS and cleared the cookies as well as rebooted the router, all which had no effect. I guess I have to give it a few days and see if it rights itself. I just have never seen a problem like this. I assume the problem is on my end.

Try setting Google as your dns server in your router. IP addresses for Google dns servers are 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

They found out that you're trying to buy out their stock! The shame!

I'm not sure what this would do. I'm not a network IT guy and I had a heck of a time setting up my router. I have it bridged with another router. This is the only way I could get a strong enough signal consistently.

jdcarpe's suggestion can potentially change your routing tables/transmission route, a similar result to you going on to VPN.
VPN working indicates that it most likely a routing issue. Data that is transmitted from point A (your home) to point B (MK) will travel through various routing points to reach it's destination. If one of those locations is having an issue, this is the result. You could try the "tracert" command in CMD prompt to view the route the packets are taking in real time, but based on a test I just did it looks like this request will be blocked, so no luck there.

You don't have to configure much, just go to your network adapter in control panel and change your IPv4 DNS addresses. It could very well fix your issue. DNS routing issues can cause just this issue. Every site is located at a specific IP address which DNS translates into a URI. For a quick rundown, here is what happens when you access a website:

Try disabling your firewall temporarily (only for as long as it takes to check the site).
Have you tried multiple browsers on the one computer? Or multiple devices on your network (e.g. several computers, or a tablet or smart phone)?
-
Yes I did try these tips and disabled windows firewall as well as all the antivirus and malware programs. This is the only computer I have tried to access it on that I have. I guess I could have used my e-book reader which has a browser as well. The website loaded on the computers at work.
Today the website is loading up just fine, which is great. I'm more concerned with learning why it would not work before, which is absolutely baffling to me, but if it continues to work I will just forget about it I suppose.

It was probably one of those compounded network route issues. I get that on occasion with random websites. Although, usually I can google search the site and access it that way so idk what you were experiencing.
