So, long story short. I invited 14 people and told them to bring their friends. That number has increased to 42 if you include the people I live with.
Obviously it needs to be good and I have a bit of a reputation as a good party thrower. But I have never thrown a party with more than 10 people.
I need good music suggestions, and ideas of what to get. In return I will post photos etc..

Yeah actually I would go to the effort of hiding your valuable ****. Even semi-valuable ****. Also **** shaped objects should be stowed correctly.

Have you informed your neighbours? It can help sometimes if they are not ****s they can be more tolerant of late night music blazing. Also some states have a thing on the police website to register parties, it is up to you to make a judgement call on that one, whether they have it in your state and if you think it will work in your favour.

Basically this. Just put all your **** in your room and lock it. Don't open it either. Last time I threw a big party one guy in our house opened his room for a little while and guess what, someone stole something from him and two of his friends ended up ****ing on the bed. For hours. Great party for the rest of us though xD .

Question for audio people.
I want to fill the house with music but I don't want it to travel far and annoy the neighbours, if I get more speakers, I should be able to lower the volume but achieve the atmosphere that I am after correct?

I ran a fake fraternity during college..
Basically, one of the other house mates, didn't lock his room this one time, and this one other guy pulled some virgin girls up to the room, and ah.. Yea... at least he got new bed sheets out of it.. but... I would've bought new mattresses if something like that happened.

Also, you need LOTS of red cups..
and make sure for the night YOU don't use other people's red cups.. Maybe get yourself a different color cup..
Because College people are disgusting, and especially the females.. they're always sick, but they'll never miss a party.. so they end up getting other people sick..
Whereas guys would stay home..

You'll need some Visqueen. At least by the bathrooms. I was at this one place and people were throwing chunks while waiting in line. Great party though

Its good to have cups, napkins, ice, and paper towels on hand. There will be spills, so just be prepared for them. DON'T GET A KEG, unless you're prepared to do a lot of clean up afterward. If youre supplying alcohol, I suggest cans as they dont empty that quickly if dropped, and they wont shatter like glass bottles.
Have a place to dispose of cigarettes outside (assuming you dont want people smoking inside). Have garbage cans available everywhere people will be, otherwise they'll collect on every surface.
Have a dedicated place for people to put their booze, if byob. Snacks are nice to have; we would usually fire off some frozen pizzas later into the night.
Cops showing up is always possible. As long as everybody is of age, there should be no trouble. Mostly likely will tell you to keep it down.
Don't let people drive home from your party drunk.

Just don't jam a bunch of speakers into one amplifier, or you'll probably do some damage. If you want to split the output from your music device to multiple amplifiers, that should work without many problems. But if you're a college kid running a $10 amp you got from Goodwill that you don't care a ton about, be my guest. :D

Make bathrooms easily accessible
Put away breakable things or things you don't want people to steal
If you have any rugs, roll them up and put them away
If you play beer pong or any drinking game like that, put the tables anywhere put carpet or anywhere easily soiled. Hardwood or the kitchen for easy clean up
That's all I can think of right now. Good luck! We threw a lot of parties too when I was in college!
