Lots and lots of big names. I'm interested to see if the media actually keeps on this or if it'll be out of the public eye in a few days.

I hope some actual change comes out of this. I don't have the exact tweet but I know Snowden said something to the effect of how this could be even bigger than WikiLeaks.

The important thing the public should understand is that THIS is a cost to capitalism..

For example. 

To me, the proletariate..   $40,000 is rent, food, gas

To a rich person, $40,000 means the SAME rent, food, gas.

HOWEVER,  money in excess of $40,000 more generally, is power, dominion over other men.

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE of that dominion..  because had it not been there,  Everyone would just be drinking beer and lounging about not working.

any type of prison is my biggest fear.. so i can't even imagine it. my cousin was in for graffiti and he said he didn't sleep for 2 days because one guy threatened to stab him in his sleep. literally the first thing he was told when he went in.

Off-topic to be sure: but if you're in jail for just a few days and can't handle yourself just flip out a little bit and they will either move you or put you in solitary. Start yelling and punching walls/lockers - or start 2 fights on the same tier on the same day will also get you moved.

A real awakening for some, maybe.  But it will probably blow over soon.  The Citigroup Plutonomy memos (http://politicalgates.blogspot.com/2011/12/citigroup-plutonomy-memos-two-bombshell.html) have been around for years and I've only heard about them recently.  Has anyone else here heard about them?  Has there been any uproar about them? The people mentioned in the Panama Papers leak are some of the richest, most powerful people on earth, served by a single firm.  Take a moment to consider that this is just the tip of the iceberg of a global economy that exists to concentrate more and more wealth into the coffers of the mega-wealthy.  It's in the best interests of all the people engaging in these acts to manufacture some diversion to keep attention away from them or to produce enough scapegoats and theater to satisfy the masses that the problem has been resolved.  And they have the money and power to do it.  ALEC (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Legislative_Exchange_Council) didn't cease to exist when it was exposed.  And many corporations that ended their membership in that organization since then have probably just moved their operations to other venues away from the public spotlight.

As for Trump, I think his popularity can be explained by an awakening.  He represents the frustration of the Republican masses who, while not fully consciously, have begun to sense the truth that the Republican party has been duping them for decades and does not actually represent them; the Republican party serves, at most, several thousand of the wealthiest people in the nation (and some other nations too).

Is anyone actually surprised by the findings in these papers?  Seems like par for the course to me.  You don't rise to the top in politics without some skeletons in the closet.  Politics is a way for those lacking creativity to gain money and power, which is why corruption is part of the game.

Just ****ing confiscate everything the mother ****ers own and demand the 100% transparency from what ever people take their places
The **** should I have to pay 35% income tax when the mother ****ers who make 100 times what I make pay close to nothing?

The fund has been registered with HM Revenue and Customs since its inception and has filed detailed tax returns every year.

They have found Americans, apparently just not any big fun ones.

They found a bunch of retirees buying land in Panama and Costa Rica and they also found a few people who had been charged with financial crimes : USA Today posted a story today (http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/2016/04/06/panama-papers-americans-with-past-financial-crimes/82704788/)

I don't think many people are surprised, but having heaps of written evidence is much more damning to them then pure speculation or rumors.

I don't think many people are surprised, but having heaps of written evidence is much more damning to them then pure speculation or rumors.

They found a bunch of retirees buying land in Panama and Costa Rica and they also found a few people who had been charged with financial crimes : USA Today posted a story today (http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/2016/04/06/panama-papers-americans-with-past-financial-crimes/82704788/)

For as far as this was a stunt to get citizens in the EU to vote FOR the EU-Ukraine association-treaty, it didn't work. The majority of attending voters opposed. Not that that is going to make a true difference, of course. They'll just find different ways to get what they want as they always do.
