Hi guys, this morning I noticed that my ALT key has a little resonating spring, so I think he need some oil.
I read some topic, old and new...and each man says his opinion, so I`m a little confused. I dont want ruin my leop :D
I never lube my last Mx cherry and I just saw some video on youtube like this:
But I cant disassemble my keyboard (just for ALT)...so can I lubricate in another way?
And do u have some tips for the oil?

If you got Mx-Ping.. the only thing you can do is disassemble it, and use a medium viscosity lube to -settle- the spring.
You can't lube the spring from the outside without drowning it in lube.. and that wouldn't be good..
IMHO.. I've got mx-ping on many of my boards.. and overall, the Loudest mx-ping is more quiet than the Most-Quiet buckling spring.. So.... TBH.. if you're bothered by this.. it's a case of recent-infatuation, not something that will carry over the longer course of usage.. One could easily forget it and move on..

I saw some people use this method or something like that, but using a strange syringe...is it so wrong?7:20

I really do not recommend lubing inside the slider hole. You can cause the lube and air to become trapped when you re assemble the switch. If you listen closely you can actually hear the lube somewhat swishing in the hole when you press down.

No on the lube and the board in that video is PCB mounted it doesn't have a plate.
It might help if you tell us what keyboard you have.

Yeah you would have to desolder to lube effectively.
But if it is only one key you might try using it for a little while and see if it goes away.

You cannot properly lube without disassembling the switch.

The plate seems to help make the spring ping louder. I recall reading someone had small success in reducing the ping by stabilizing the plate with some rubber erasers or something. I wonder if there is a good material to pad the underside of the plate with.

Actually..
You wouldn't bother with lube. just replace the switch..
If you can get into desoldering it, it's cheaper to just replace the switch vs buying Lube which MAY or MAY NOT work.

Understandable.. but there's no Perfect solution from the outside..
I know you hesitate now, but, idk, do you feel like that keyboard is going to be your last ?
Everyone here is at least 5-20 keyboards in by the end of the first year at GH..

mmmh i think no. I want try a Topre keyboard in the future (when i`ll grab money)...maybe a HHKB. And I would like to try a tlk like fc750 :D

I have the same keyboard as u, and just recently replace the switch with zaelios. I can't tell u enough how easy it is to disassemble the keyboard and do the desolder-resolder.
