Title: Hello all!
Post by: TheRadger on Wed, 06 April 2016, 19:13:24
Hi everyone,

Just wanted to introduce myself. Became a fan of mechanical keyboards after I decided I wanted to recapture the fond memories of the old clicky boards my dad and I would use to play videogames when I was little. Started with a WASD, recently purchased a Pok3r and some Miami keycaps. Hopefully planning to do some builds in the not so distant future, been meaning to learn to solder anyway!

Nice to meet you all.

Welcome to Geekhack!

What switches have you got in those keyboards?

The older clicky keyboards were probably buckling spring (e.g. Model M/F) or Alps - you can still get those, especially buckling spring keyboards!  Alps keyboards are a bit rarer, and finding one with the right switches is even more difficult.
