I've got one in an FM transmitter I use every day. It's a Griffin iTrip for Sansa. It's a good transmitter, but I hate the "power off when not enough signal 'feature'".
I'm wondering if I can disable or bypass that timer so it stays on when plugged in. I haven't taken it apart yet bucause I don't want to break it, but I probably will soon.
Am I getting in over my head here?
EDIT:
I took it apart. Pics attached.

I have a Sansa and a FM transmitter from dealextreme that also has this funny feature. The problem only manifests when not listening to car-friendly music (music with any extended silence or weakness), since I have to make the volume 0dB or +6dB in Rockbox anyhow in order to get a reasonably strong signal.

Yeah that's when it happens to me too.
Rockbox is the best!
