Title: Hi from Bavaria
Post by: Metapunk on Mon, 18 April 2016, 04:59:24
Hi there,

after quite some time following links to this forum again and again, I noticed that I never joined. So here I am. I think my way into losing money... er I ment getting happy was: Seeing mechanical Keyboards on Massdrop, reading about them at /r/mk and buying a Pok3r at Amazon. That was the reasonable part...

About me: Hacker, Cynic, can be found at CCC-related events.

Currently I'm in the progress of building a planck-clone for fun.

I will stay due to sunk cost fallacy (http://www.lifehack.org/articles/communication/how-the-sunk-cost-fallacy-makes-you-act-stupid.html)

_Some_ sunk costs yet:

- Pok3r black
- 4 planck front plates (laser cut)
- 2 Teensys, 500 Diodes, 100 11mm spacer
- clear, yellow, green and blue transparent gaterons (110 each)
- GH60 rev c.
- Numpad Switch testet with pcb
- 60% DIY
- 2 SP Grab-Bags

Considering:
- Magicforce 68
- Keycool Hero 87 Rainbow
- Keycool 22 Numpad
- More Keycaps (sets)
- Building more own keyboard layouts
- Making own keycap printing designs

Yes, I'm lost. </whining>

Welcome to Geekhack!

Ah, good old DSA keycaps - the go-to for most non-standard layouts :)

What switches are you using?

I will try SA Keycaps as soon as I sorted my grab bags.

I'm building 4 pieces. This one has green gaterons. The other ones will probably receive blue or yellow gaterons.

You can get uniform SA too - same profile across the board.  Usually R3.

Or with that layout, provided the keys are in conventional rows, sculptured SA would also work.

At least now I can blame you. You made me do it. You monster.

Incoming:
- Magicforce 68
- Skidata KC X50 BK (will probably get green switches and I'll have to see if I manage to make all keys programmable with USB)

Skidata <3 Welcome!

Have they changed the Keycool 22 to output numpad codes?
