Title: New member
Post by: gorillionaire on Thu, 21 April 2016, 10:53:46
Hello Geekhack community, I'm A new member! I just got into pc's and such about a year ago and it has spurned my interest in all things computer related. I recently purchased my first mechanical keyboard(Das) even though I wanted a filco camo badly. Im excited to be here and navigate my way through all this info. Im not a very fast typer and sadly sometimes I have to peak at my finger tips to type. some interesting things about me would be I aggressive skate, Im on the second half of my twenties and I enjoy international foods. so hopefully I make some new friends here and learn alot.

Howdy! Somewhat new here also. An exciting hobby indeed with what seems like a good community to be a part of.   :thumb:

Any plans for modifications to your das?

Welcome! Sounds like you already have a goal in mind (filco camo) and that's the drive that keeps us going in this hobby I think. Definitely take your time to look around but don't be afraid to ask questions and participate!

Aggressive nerf herding? I think that's what you said :))

Just a little ribbing haha. Welcome :D

I could never understand the camo filco thing, but to each his (their) own I guess. Tons of keyboards out there to check out, you'll find the right one eventually!

Welcome welcome new here as well, I have been using computers since I was 10 or so and had typing classes in school and got a Computer Science degree and I still look at the keyboard all the time. I bought several sets of blank keycaps and that still hasn't helped....anyways I am glad so many awesome people are a part of this forum and welcome you.

Welcome to Geekhack!

Filco camo - been a while since I've heard of that one!  Quite popular back when it came out.

If you ever mange to find one, the Commando keycap set goes very well with it - as per the pictures here: http://keypuller.com/commando-23/

Oh cool, signature plastics manufactured it :)

Edit - I followed that link to the keyboard company website. Diatec currently manufactures a high profile double shot abs filco set in all back. Very cool :)

Allegedly.

AFAIK they are the only company making SA keysets anyway.

Diatec is secretly manufacturing them as well! They're for sale at The Keyboard Company in a multitude of layouts

If you do, by some chance, find a Filco camo, here's (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=49563.msg2152075#msg2152075) a nice artisan keycap that would go perfectly with it!
