Post by: soundtester on Sat, 23 April 2016, 03:26:49
Can I get some information on this keyboard that seems to be sold out on every  website. I'd like to get it. Especially that same color. btw, what does PBT stand for?

The Ducky G2 Pro has been discontinued for a while, and if you want to stay Ducky, the closest thing available would be the Ducky One. However, I don't think there is a Ducky One with that color keycap.

I think Leopold keyboards might have those color keycaps if you want to check that out.

Also, PBT is short for polybutylene terephthalate, a type of plastic used to make keycaps. It has a textured feel and is less prone to wear and shine over time. PBT also is denser than your average keycap, affecting perception of quality and typing sound. This is in contrast to ABS plastic.

ABS is the more common plastic used to make keycaps. It is prone to wear and shine over time and from most manufacturer keyboards, is typically thin and low quality. There are ABS exceptions such as GMK Keysets, but if you're only looking at manufacturer keyboards, ABS tends to be less favored than PBT.

How about the VA87M? It has white LEDs and also has Gray PBT keycaps similar to the Ducky. Difference is it doesn't have a numpad.

It's not stocked yet, but mechanicalkeyboards.com expects to stock it some time in May.

Gotcha. The Varmilo 108 (https://www.massdrop.com/buy/varmilo-108-keyboard) was available previously on Massdrop, but the drop has ended since then. It's available on Taobao if you can navigate your way through the Chinese.

The only other readily available keyboard I can think of with those color keycaps out of the box would be the Topre Hi-Pro, but that's pretty pricy.

Another option would be to buy a board similar to that Ducky you were looking at and look for gray keycaps to replace the original keycaps.

There is a mostly similar Ducky One: https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=1557

All you'd need is some gray modifiers.
