Title: Cherry MX keycaps feeling like the Realforce's
Post by: iri on Wed, 27 April 2016, 20:18:44
Hello,

I am looking for the PBT keycaps (keycap sets), similar in feel to the ones on the Realforce keyboards (like 87UB), for the Cherry MX switches.

I tried search but only found that "there is no such thing" which I find too bad to believe.

All MX PBT keycaps I've tried were a bit rougher in texture than those found on the RF boards.

Thank you.

I am currently loving the black side print Leopold thick PBT MX caps.

I think they are ~$50 from widebasket on eBay. EDIT: http://www.ebay.com/itm/PBT-Keycap-Set-for-Cherry-MX-based-Leopold-Keyboard-Front-Face-Englih-Black-/272166685744?

Or if you need an MX board you could find one of the Leopold boards that come with the caps stock.

Compared a few sets I have to the RF keycap I have. Leopold and Gateron are around the same smoothness as RF, and BSP is very noticeably smoother.

Gateron and Leopold are cheap and more easily obtained than BSP and have more compatibilty especially Gateron whereas BSP only does ANSI winkeyless keys and no spacebars.
