Price is up there at $230 bid or $300 BIN: http://www.ebay.com/itm/IBM-5251-Beam-Spring-Vintage-Mechanical-Keyboard-/282016247138
Seller relisted it at $220 BIN OBO + shipping. Seems a bit more reasonable:

And a few keys look misaligned in the number row, but maybe keep an eye on it or see if they'll take a lower offer...
-
Don't think the number row is anything to worry about, fwiw.
I imagine this is the same one that's been around, this guy found something like 5 of them.

removed.

Does this require the beam spring display writer controller or the standard beam spring controller?
-
Standard controller, I found one of these locally recently actually and it's up and running. Still wasn't cheap unfortunately, but who's complaining? They don't make them like this anymore :)

Yea, I consider it a lifetime investment in a rare and limited product. Not expecting a huge discount.

Played Quake the other day on mine. 10/10 would ice wrist again.
-
This thing is back up. Raised the price by $20. I think shipping is lower, though.

fwiw, I got him down to 210 last time he had it up, but I decided I can't do the enter key on this thing
Now I know why he raised the prices. I had offered 180, then 190, but he did not take the offer. He thinks offer is at 210+ship, so, now he has upped it by 5$ more on the top. I texted him that displaywriter one is better as has a better layout and more keys, and he has the top row skewed, may be a switch or two is broken, the plastic being so old and brittle. Anyways this prices is out of my league with a controller another 40-50$. I would rather wait for the modelfkeyboards.com to build a new model M replica layout.

Relisted again, this time at $240 OBO.
-
I'd be happy to buy this, if only the seller would ship across a border! :blank:
-
This seller is a/an idiot! Does not respond back to messages and rejects any best offers, even higher ones. Looks like he thinks somebody will buy a keyboard with broken keys for 240. May be for parts, then this should be priced for parts accordingly.
-
Again, those keys don't look broken. They have quite a bit of wobble naturally.

You can get them snug on the stems. Enough to make them straight. That the seller hasn't is either ignorance of the issue, sheer laziness, or there's an underlying issue like a broken mount on the cap or a bent stem.
I doubt it's anything, but it's simple enough to straighten up for a sale photo.
