Hi GH'ers,

Am currently looking for topre KWK Fn/ Esc sets.
Please let me know if you have and is willing to part ways with them :)

Sold:

Black Novatouched HHKB
Specs:
i. All switches modded with purple novatouch sliders except the spacebar
ii. Spacebar is modded with purple silent realforce topre slider
iii. Added anti-slip foam at the bottom of the case, to add stability and some degree of silence.
iv. Partial JTK WoB keycaps (the one that is shown on the board itself)
v. Spacebar is PBT.

To tell the truth friend I think you'd have a better chance of selling if you'd try your luck over on /r/mechmarket. Things like this usually sell fairly quickly.

Great looking board, especially with the JTK :)

Just curious, about how long did this mod take? I recently bought an HHKB and also have a Novatouch and was considering doing this in the future. Part of me wants to for the expanded keycap selection, but I'm also really happy with the vanilla HHKB. Just wondering if it would be worth the time. Thanks, and GLWS!

Hi Zutroy,

For your information, when I receive the HHKB (second hand) it was already 90% modded with novastem, then I have sent it to my friend to complete the modding with anti-slip mat and purple silence slider, together with some tuning. So I am not sure how long it would take to fully mod the HHKB with novastems, sorry.

To be honest, I think that depends on your requirement, if you want your nice looking group buy caps and GMK caps on the HHKB, then by all means, please go for it. If you think that you just want a good typing keyboard, then just keep it as it is :)

Fair enough. Thanks for the response. Will probably keep it as-is for now, as I like the stock PBT blank caps on the HHKB just fine.

If you don't mind me asking a couple other questions: 1) how do cherry profile keycaps feel on the HHKB with the Novatouch mod? I ask because on my Novatouch, I (like many others) have experienced the problem with cherry caps bottoming out on certain mods. For me, it's mostly the shift keys and enter. I hate that loud plastic on plastic clack, and the o-rings that come with the Novatouch don't seem to help. Do you have this same problem on the HHKB?

Also, I've been reading about all the HHKB mods, and I can't seem to find any info on what exactly the anti-slip mat does for the board. It goes between the bottom case and PCB, right? Does this just add a layer of cushion to soften typing noises?

in my case it is okay though, never really have that issue, the board is kind of consistent overall.

The anti-slip mat mostly function like what you said, add a soft cushion and overall increase the stability of the board, as it reduces the space between the bottom case and PCB.

there are 2 types of novatouch mod for hhkb afaik, one is the one that mod even the stabilizers, and one that do not, for those that do not, I think for consistency they will remove the stabilizer stems from the bigger keys such as enter and left shift.
I think this is more of personal preference though, such as there are some hhkb users remove the spring from the spacebar and some do not :)

mine is clipping the keycaps' larger keys (Enter & left Shift)

UPDATE: TRADE SUCCESSFUL but i would like to have known about the stripped plate threads and clipped shift and enter keys. geez. horrible work installing these sliders. broken threads everywhere.

received, disassembled for cleaning, found multiple stripped thread holes between pcb and plate mount ! what the hell man, great condition novatouch sliders non silenced, silenced spacebar slider, crudely modified keyset to make it compatible with nova'd shift and enter sliders...

not my most favorable purchase...

UPDATE: Partially refunded 30 dollars. Satisfactory resolution.

Hi anthorix,

The stripped plate threads and clipped left and enter keys are from the previous owner, I apologize that I overlooked that and forgotten to include in the description. The changes that I asked my friend to perform when I received the board includes diaassemble, cleaning, installing silence slider on spacebar, changed the topre slider on esc to nova, and also the foam sheet.
