So I have the Midnight DCS set and my backlight barely shines thru the alpha keys and it's patchy. I know it's due to the double shot process with the light not being able to make it through the black plastic lines like this (https://i.ytimg.com/vi/HcC5PaiUMgc/maxresdefault.jpg)
But then I came across this picture where it looks like the user is getting full light transmission with no patchiness.

So are these caps modded in some way or are the sets just inconsistent and the caps above just have less black lines on the back? I thought about the possibility of maybe trying to sand down the black lines immediately behind the legends but I don't know if this will ruin the cap or what. I tried scraping a tiny bit with a knife but stopped.
Thanks for viewing!

Nah bro, it's random. The double shot plastic is prone to light bleed, and he "lucked out" with some bleed heavy keys.

Damn. I want to try and mod some caps but maybe I'll get some crappy dcs and try first. I'm thinking I can dremel out the black lines just right behind the legend without going all the way thru.

If you want some random caps to practice on I've probably got a few left somewhere just pm me your address.
