Title: I've been browsing for a long time, it's time. Hello world.

Howdy! I guess a little about me, I work in the tech industry and obviously by extension spend an inordinate amount of time on my computer and my keyboard. I was gifted a hand me down Das Keyboard 3 with MX Blues as my first keyboard, used heavily as a daily driver for about 5 years until I had a soy sauce catastrophe resulting in a completely non responsive 0 key on the numpad.

I've since upgraded to a Pok3r with MX Browns (much to the pleasure of my S/O who couldn't stand how loud the blues were). I'm still learning and only just recently have found out how much I quite like the 60% layout, though I honest never saw myself loving one.

I've currently got Modern Selectric from Signature Plastics on it (After I was able to memorize where most of the function layer keys are) with the caps lock acting as a fn layer since I heavy use things like insert, pg up/down, etc.).

Just bought my first artisan (A Jellykeys space bar) and already looking at buying an Input Club K-Type and an HHKB I suspect.

Anyway, lots of really great stuff here and I'm glad to finally be apart of it.

Welcome to Geekhack!

One nice thing about mechanical keyboards is that they have discreet switches.  You could probably replace the broken switch on the DAS to make it fully functional again, just with a few minutes soldering.  Have you still got it, by the way?

Pok3r is a great 60% keyboard - so many people have one.  I was tempted for a while, but my HHKB would get jealous :))

I don't, I wish I would have kept it though the more I learn about it I could have at least sent it to somebody who could have repaired it and gotten some proper use out of it. I

Not to worry, hopefully someone salvaged it and it lives on today.

Now you know - if you find a broken mechanical keyboard there is a chance that you'll be able to repair it!
