Hey there!
this is my first attempt at the design I'd like.

Now I'm still pretty new to this so I'm not super sure if I've made any glaring mistakes, I think I used standard sized caps and stuff but I could be wrong, is there anything really wrong with this design? any problems I would come across?

Hey photo can't be loaded, can you re-up?

changed to link, sorry about that!

this kinda of layout is optimized to do what?
-
I wouldn't say its optimal for anything in particular, just what I want in a Keyboard, purely a personal set up :p
-
it's does not look very operative for me, but like you say, it is personal :thumb:
and about the other layers?
-
Hadn't figured out the other layers just yet, I have a basic idea though.
will I have any issues with cap compatibility though?
-
Pretty 'fucn' cool :thumb:

since is a very personal layout, I pretty sure you will not find any full set of caps compatible, but I have only a few months as mechanical keyboards enthusiast so I can be wrong

What caps are you hoping to get? If you're fine with a uniform profile (DSA, G20 or SA row 3) and wrong legends or blanks you'll be able to cover it. If you want legends these will be a problem
Escape
Tab (always 1.5u)
Left shift (1.25u ISO or 1.75u usually used for a split right shift)
Enter (usually 2.25u)
:
If you swapped Esc and backspace to ISO enter keys (Esc upsidedown) I think you'd be perfect for caps and the numbers would be nearer normal stagger, but it would be a bit bigger...
Interesting design :thumb:

HA! silly typo, whoops.

I wouldn't be to upset about blanks, I kinda like that idea actually.
Also I've changed it up, here is v2

Is it going to feel super weird if the numbers are not staggered?
-
Well the numbers are only half where your fingers expect them to be, so until you adjust you'll probably hit the one next door as well. How you adjust is personal - I can move backspace with no problem (to caps lock or a split space bar), but I cannot adjust to an ANSI enter. You'll never know until you try :)
