Title: Does the matias tactile pro for mac work with the pc?
Post by: supamesican on Mon, 09 May 2016, 20:29:14
Basically I want the tactile pro mini but they only make the quiet click for the pc, and I like clicky keys. If I get the one for mac will it work with a pc, windows and linux?

I've used Matias Tactile Pro (full size) on PC before and it works fine for the most part.

Only a few things to keep in mind:

- The FN key at where "insert" should be is hardware coded so there's nothing you can do about it.
- Win and Alt will be swapped but that's easy to fix with autohotkey.

Everything else work as intended even the "clear" key which will somehow convert to "num lock" in windows.

F13, F14, F15 will work as print screen, scroll lock, and pause/break respectively.

Now I don't have experience with Matias Tactile Pro Mini but I'd imagine it should work fine for the most part.  :thumb:

Awesome! I do like the white color on it so I'll get it this weekend.

On Matias boards there are (usually?) jumpers to select between Mac and PC layout, on the Ergo Pro I borrowed they were hidden under a keycap.  As above it will work fine in the wrong mode, but may as well do it properly if you can :)
