Title: Gateron Red Keyboard
Post by: Naweo on Tue, 10 May 2016, 09:06:06
If anyone has a Gateron Red Keyboard for sale or knows where it can be bought, please let me know!

I am looking for a 75% sized Gateron Red Keyboard, right now all I know of is noppoo choc mini.

When I order from Corus Keyboard I keep receiving Gateron Brown instead of red.

If you know of any 75% sized gateron Red or Kailh Red or non-cherry non-greetech red, please let me know!

Thanks!

I don't know about any other 75% boards with Gateron Red switches apart from the Choc Mini. But if you don't mind a slightly larger size (80%/TKL), then I would recommend the Rantopad MXX Gateron Red. You can get it from Amazon, or their official website (http://rantopadusa.com/collections/keyboards/products/mxx-mechanical-gaming-keyboard).

On an additional note, I would strongly recommend the Gateron Reds over Kailh Red. Not that it is bad, but Gaterons are a lot smoother in my experience.

You can find a tenkeyless gateron keyboard on Taobao.
Just search "Plum 机械键盘" and you will be able to find it :)

If you're handy with a soldering iron you can order a 75% B. Mini X2 from winkeyless. You'll have a choice of gateron switches in the drop down menu for the pcb or you can order them from the parts/switches sub menu. Downside is the wait for the case to be made. On the website I saw that it could take up to a month for the case but I believe the other parts take a normal amount of time to process/ship (normal shipping time from South Korea I guess).

If you have the patience to wait for winkeyless.kr to ship and have the funds, I'd say go for the B mini.  You can spec your lighting options, choose your layout (1.5 or 1.25 mods, ISO or ANSI).   With any luck they will ship with the new black bottom/clear top Gateron reds.  They feel smoother to type on than the translucent top/bottom reds that were made last year.   I base that on my own comparison in two plate mounted boards (orion v2 with translucent reds and octagon v2 with black/clear reds).

I am still waiting on my 2nd year from a keyboard from GON, I should have the patience to wait for 1-2 months for this one.

I do not wanna start soldering now, I have very shaky hands and I want it done professionally.

Does winkeyless.kr sell fully assembled keyboards?

You can request for all the parts aside from the switches to be soldered yes, technically no they don't fully assemble the keyboards. But you might be able to request for them to solder the switches as well, I don't see why they wouldn't. Switch soldering is not a drop down option for when you order the PCB for some reason. If they can't solder the switches you could send it off to a member of GH that can solder the switches. You won't have to wait two years, holy guacamole that's a long wait time.
