Same thing with serious dramas. I have enough drama, life itself is sad enough. Why do I need a movie or a book or even a game to make me sad. And like I really want to READ, just another chore I got bored of in school. That being said, Witcher 3 was SOOO BORING. Blah Blah, story. Text, reading... dialogue, drama. Fetch this, get to hear about someone's boring problems or this banal crap they call lore. YAWN!!!

I JUST WANT MORE EXPLOSIONS!!!!!

it can feel like a second job if you're playing an mmorpg or something, eg go to work, fix 3/3 bugs for your boss, go home, kill 10/10 giant rats for an npc

that's probably why i played so many mmorpgs so heavily before i started working, and these days i play multiplayer fps games instead

It's similar, only that the type of "fetch quest" in this case is much shorter. But because of that you do more OF THEM

BTW, In real life,  They PAY YOU to kill people,   so.. that of course is the main difference in the exchange..
