Title: Avatar with a transparent background gets converted to JPG
Post by: rowdy on Sun, 22 May 2016, 01:21:40
I've been trying to upload an avatar with a transparent background.

It checks out locally with GIMP, Preview, in a couple of web browsers, and with Skitch.

When I upload it, then view my profile, SMF has changed it to JPG and lost the transparentness.

Am I doing something wrong?  Or if the forum playing silly beggars with my picture?

Make the picture 150x150. If the image is too big it gets resized and as a result loses the transparency.

It is PNG, but 128x151.  Maybe that one extra pixel is the culprit ...
