Title: Trouble showing excitement or joy?
Post by: C5Allroad on Mon, 23 May 2016, 19:00:12
So this Saturday I went to a concert with my gf. Now normally, I'm an introvert so this is a very new and a weird experience for me. Now my ultimate goal was to be active with the crowd and such and enjoy myself.

So two artists played, gallant and zhu. We managed to get near the front for gallant and I was feeling pretty comfortable with moving around(I've never danced, or moved to music in such a fashion before). When we sat down for a break lack of water and exhaustion kicked in. I was wanting to go forward and join the crown again, but I absolutely couldn't and felt really bad that I was affecting her time also.

So I guess I'm asking how to be more involved and show that I'm enjoying myself because it sure as hell didn't seem like it if you looked at me.

I’m not expressive myself so my advice would be to just relax and be yourself and enjoy the moment. You don’t need to fake an excitement and joy as that’s easily detected by the opposite sex.

We need further advice from tp4 and demik.

Not drugs, never a good strain, ever. Especially not from Miami. :blank:

It was interesting because that's all I smelled while in there. A lot of ganja.

I wasn't trying to fake it. I sat and enjoyed the music, but what resulted in a bit of an argument was the fact that electronic music is meant to have you jumping and what not.
I got into the music during the first artist. But after that I was sort of sitting there in the chair wanting water.

Hmm, then trance is not for you. You probably need to let her know you enjoy different sort of music.....

I mean, it sounds like you just got dehydrated and maybe a little contact high.

Nothing all too dramatic to go so far as to say you are having trouble showing emotions.

Drink more water next time. Bring some water with you, too.

If you drink, have a few drinks beforehand maybe. Depends on if you are the type to get really tired, really quickly when your buzz wears off or not.

And, lastly, don't worry so much about what anyone else thinks about it. Even if that person is a girl you're trying to impress. You do you, man.

We made jokes about being second hand high while there. And it's definitely a possibility if I was feeling funny when I started to walk.
It would have helped if I had money for water being that they didn't allow bottles inside when they were patting us down.

This is the problem with going outside in general..

There is this modern obsession with being -persistently- or -extremely- happy..

To the point where such persons desire to live within a manic state of mind..

This ideology that one could be - Constantly -happy is the root of many people's trail toward pharmacological abuse..

We are in the age of decadence as a society, and the general population exist aimlessly..

This is not a matter of good or bad,  because we witness this disposition at the end of every empire.

I only hope that THIS time, people wise up, have more children, build stronger armies.

Ya, concerts are a scam like that. Been to shows that were outside in the middle of the desert that won't allow water and charge $8+ for a bottle. It's insane. Which is why I suggested drinking before the show, but the same idea works for making sure you are hydrated going in. Sure, if the show is long enough, hot enough, and you're dancing enough, you're likely to need more water when you're there. But it's good to at least have a good start before you get there.

And depending on how small of a venue we're talking about, and how much weed people were smoking, contact high is a real possibility. Especially if you don't smoke, and so are likely to have a very low tolerance.

Anyways, try not to worry about it man. Just plan ahead next time =)
