Title: Rubber-Dome Keyboards And Why You Should Have One
Post by: QuincyJones on Tue, 24 May 2016, 14:05:15
Deadly silent was the ninja who slayed his enemy,
Vroom vroom vroom goes the Harley-rider down the street.
I don't want a keyboard adored by fanboys, but by men and me,
shh hhh hhh goes my fingers, but I worry more about my seat.
Lots of dollars to buy, mechnical keyboards are not cheap,
But only one you will need it will last your life, you weed.
Rubber-dome will last your life too but not as loud
CLACK CLACK CLAK, I hope you're all bloody proud.

Bah I'm bored of it, can't finish it off.

There are forums dedicated to schizophrenia and other mental illnesses.  This is not one of them.

I beg to differ.  If we weren't fapping to computer keyboards we would be fapping to something else.

Wait a minute I didn't write this - yes you did .. no I didn't :) :( :) :(

This, on a forum full of obsessive collectors and hoarders, is the very definition of irony.

I don't mind rubber domes. If you have 200+ people working in an office you need something quiet and disposable.

I'd rather type on rubber dome vs damn Foam and Foil

I have a rubber dome keyboard - it has an HHKB logo in the bottom right corner.

Mary had a rubber dome
Its keys were soft as ****
And every word that Mary typed
Caused her to have a fit

She switched to Cherry MX browns
To see how she would go
Now every word that Mary types
Just doesn't seem to flow

A Topre board was next to try
She spent a lot of cash
Now Mary types all day and night
Her keyboard she does bash

Haha brilliant.
Man this forum is all about the HHKB (at least a big portion of it) - really should try a topre board at some point.
No meetups around here though :/

I used to own a  Logitech LX710 keyboard.  Despite being a rubber dome board, this is one of the most comfortable and quietest boards I ever typed on.  I got rid of it because I have shied away from wireless boards and mouses, once the input lag became apparent, but I wish I kept this one.

I had an old Logitech gaming keyboard, you know the one with the little screen on it that could show some stats and stuff.
I completely destroyed it, used it so much it was utterly broken by the time I was finished with it. I think that was the last time I had a keyboard that I used until it just couldn't do it any more.

If you think you don't like rubber domes then fine; but at least have the courtesy to list ones you've tried.

Because you sound like:

I tried a Ducky 1087XM and it sucked - all Alps are trash...
This board with MX Whites is crappy and inconsistent - Cherry MX a POS...
Oh these Outemu Blues feel different a few days after I bought them - **** you MX clones.
What a rattly POS - this NovaTouch sucks!  So happy to be out of electro capacatives....

There are good domes and bad domes.  And yes, I am the dome defender!! :)  Membrane sheets I salute you!

Mr. Jones you have produced many great things in your life time, including Rashida Jones, but poetry is not working for you. Please reconsider your life choices, a man at your age should stick to his tried and true paths in life, and live out the rest of his life with dignity.

I have this one keyboard by a company called "Trust" and the rubber domes feel almost like Topre, just not quite as much spring on the return.

Never trust anyone or anything that tells you to trust it.

I guess it really depends on the materials used. I'm tired of pressing down on rubber tbh :p

While the build quality isn't fantastic, each key does have it's own dome, rather than a single membrane layer.

I've got one for controlling the PC hooked up to the TV.
Logitech Wireless something, it's a terrible keyboard. The layout is horrible (Danish ISO) and the buttons are too small and close together.
I can't type for **** on it. It does feel nice typing on tho.

Because rubber dome keyboards are like honey badgers, they just don't give a ****.
