Title: [EU] Affordable ISO keyboard with quiet heavy tactile switches?
Post by: spremino on Wed, 01 June 2016, 06:32:25: I was going to buy a Cherry G80-3000 with MX Clears but - I don't know why - lately the price of this model has almost doubled (to 120 euros). Therefore I am looking for alternative keyboards with a standard ISO layout, MX Clears or similar tactile switches,and hopefully with both Windows keys. I don't care about the language, only the ISO layout. I have also considered a Dell AT102W, but they are difficult to find here in the European Union.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

EDIT: Ideally, I would like to find a keyboard - used or new - for no more than 70 euros shipped, but the less the better.

eBay is usually a good place to buy G80-3000s.

If you can live with MX Blacks (or if you feel like replacing the switches), you might wanna try and offer £ 30 for this one (http://www.ebay.it/itm/G80-3000LPCDE-0-Cherry-MX3000-Mechanical-USB-PS2-Keyboard-DE-White-Rare-/301957616483?hash=item464e139363:g:zssAAOSw~oFXOMr3) which would sum up to around € 65 shipped.

Unfortunately, it seems that G80-3000s with switches other than MX Blues and Blacks are being discontinued, because they have become difficult to find.

Thanks for making me realize that I would prefer some tactility in the switches, therefore AFAIK MX Blacks are out. I am grateful for your effort in suggesting a candidate.

As for the AT102W; I don't where you've been looking xD . I find them all the time! Check out your local recycling centres.

These were extremely common keyboards throughout the entirety of the 90s. They were produced by the millions I'm sure. You can find them everywhere, if you work in an office or something, see if they have any old equipment store. I found a bunch at my uni, too. I must've had over 20 in total by now, from all kinds of different sources.

As always with Alps boards; don't settle for anything that's not clean! Dirty Alps boards tend to be extremely nasty.
