Hi all! New member of the geekhack forums. I recently bought a Matias Ergo Pro and it's my dream to one day own an Ergodox.
This forum has been a trove of helpful information so far (keyboard maintenance, customisation, desktop ergonomics etc.) and I look forward to learning even more from everyone!

Welcome to the forum! I too hope that you one day get to own an ergodox. This place has tons of info that will definitely help you out along the way.

Welcome to Geekhack!
Keep an eye on Massdrop (www.massdrop.com) as they have drops for Ergo Dox occasionally. More keycap sets are including Ergo Dox compatibility sets, so things are improving all the time.
Wish I could say the same for the Matias though. Unfortunately it has a sufficiently non-standard layout that you'd probably never be able to find a replacement set.

Thanks sek1ne and rowdy! :D
Yes, the customizability of the Ergodox is what appeals to me, but I'm actually leaning more towards getting the Ergodox EZ at the moment. As for the Matias, if I could change the keycaps to blank I would, but I'm happy with what I have for now! :)

Welcome. I've definitely read a bit about the Ergodox; all positive so far
Edit - Some people are iffy about the thumb clusters so I guess 'ymmv'

Most regular Ergo Dox users are somewhat fanatical about their keyboards, kinda like the HHKB crowd (just ignore my "HHKB Hapster" custom title for now).
When you get a keyboard that is sufficiently different from the run of the mill gaming keyboard you tend to get both ends of the fanaticism spectrum jumping around :p
